Raised from the dead – this 1961 Austin Mini Countryman is presumed to be the oldest mini in the country. The car was lying rotting outside St. Patricks Church, Karachi for many years and underwent a complete restoration. The car has a 1275cc Austin engine as opposed to the original 848cc and can hold its own on the motorway, having been driven up from Karachi to Swat in recent years. The distinctive feature of the car is the wood work, modeled on the American woody wagons of the 1940s.

The Mini is a two-door compact city car that was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 until 2000. The original Mini is considered an icon of 1960s British popular culture.
